I've noticed that black people really love their fried chicken, whenver I drive past KFC the same black guys are there everyday with a family bucket.
Also my black friends always bring sliced watermelon in theior lunch boxes to school.
Is it in black people's genes to love watermelon and fried chicken, I'm really confused?
We don't like mayonaise and milk...I have mayonaise like twice per year and milk pretty rarely.
See Lady Lii is a good example of my point, she says she eats a family bucket everyday for breakfast along with watermelon gator-aid. Why does she love it so much?
I wasn't asking you about whether you like it teletubby, I was asking why black people get sexually excited when they smell fried chicken.
Pytanie #2:
My biological mother use to drink and smoke and do drugs and was bulimic when she was pregnant with me, and the only thing that separates us appearance wise is the facial features I obtained from FAS...
I'm not mentally retarted or anything but the doctors said that I was born a crack baby and did get the facial deformations from the alcohol. I've also had brain surgery and cranio plasty so I do not have the pin head or undeveloped ears...
But I was wondering if the facial features are in my gene's and if there is a possibility that my children would get these mutations as well. Also even after all of the stunts my mother pulled I don't really know if my brains damaged or anything but I'm in all advanced classes and have some of the highest test scores in my school, but could the mentally damaging effects from the alcohol and crack be lying recessive in my genes and end up dominant in my child? Does that sound absolutely mad and silly?
I'm not pregnant or anything I'm only 15, but I'm still curious.
Thank you.

Pytanie #5:
Ok, I've been anemic for a long time now and my doctor did a stool test on me and found some damage to my bowel that he thinks is from gluten intolerance or celiac disease, so now I'm getting a gene test to confirm it but I haven't gotten it yet..but he still wants me to go ahead and start a gluten free diet so I have, but with all the research I've done, people are saying its sooo hard to eat out and I've already eaten out twice since I started this diet 4 days ago and of course I didnt get exactly what I would have wanted on the menu but it wasnt that difficult. I just got some grilled fish that hadn't been marinaded (i checked with the waitress) and steamed veggies w/o sauce on one occasion and a salad with red cabbage, rice and beans and salsa and sour cream with corn chips on the other occasion and I'm thinking I must be doing something wrong because its not that hard to find something gluten free (several things actually) at practically any restaurant. It just seems too easy. I feel like maybe there's hidden gluten everywhere and that's what it seems like some people are saying, they freak out about cross contamination, but is it THAT serious if you get a trace from cross contamination? Ive heard some say they feel like rusty razor blades are shredding their insides from eating a trace of gluten, but that never happened to me even when i was eating gluten all the time. I don't think i have the usual symptoms of it.. mine are nausea, unexplained anemia, poor nutrient absorption (results from the stool test), weakness, getting tired and worn out easily, insomnia, etc. Could it be that I'm just not as sensitive to gluten as some others? Does anyone else with a gluten allergy stay on a gluten free diet, yet not completely obsess about cross contamination?
Pytanie #6:
Suppose the ability to roll one's tongue (dominant) is linked to a rare form of dwarfism, which is also dominant. If the parents are heterozygous for both alleles, with two dominants on one chromosome and the two recessives on the homologous chromosome, what would be the phenotypic ratio of the offspring? (assume the two genes are completly linked, i.e. no crossing over)..

I started getting white hair when I was 10 now i'm 17 and i have maybe 100's for white hair mostly in the back of my head. I started dying my hair to cover them up which is working but sometimes, I don't get most of them and they show(because I have black hair). I can't do anything about them because it's genetic(my dad's bad gene -_-). Should I dye my hair a really light brown(dark honey color) to blend it in more? I'm asian btw
there not gray, just pure white
I think dying it white is kind of extreme for me I rather go blonde lol

He didn't take drugs or a surgery to increase his height that is.

I think this can be concluded from Dawkins "The Selfish Gene". Our capacity for self deception is also likely genetic. Why then are so many people anxious to claim evolution as their source of morality?
"cohesive society was also evolutionarily advantageous"
But not necessarily an honest or selfless society, apparently.
"Everything that makes us human is from our genes, the good bits and the bad. "
Then whatever we do is moral by definition.
"We can override those feeling with our intellect. "
But evolution cannot be the source of morality if we have a reason to override evolution.

So? I was thinking of downgrading the psu for something cheaper, but most reviews suck for the lower end ones.
I was also thinking of getting a torrented version of windows; and just hack the code you need (My friend managed), by utorrent.
Also my budget is $1000.00, but I can pay for shipping by other means.
Oh right; this is meant for gaming; First Person Shooters(Combat arms, Bioshock, ect), mmorpgs (WoW, EVE, ect). So a good ghz would be awesome.
Also got a question; I was going to buy a gaming laptop, and I saw a thing called Turbo boost; do desktops have this feature?
I live in Canada if that helps, mainly use NCIX and Newegg.ca

Lol, I've seen lots of different monogamy-related slogans like "A real man doesn't love a million girls. He loves one girl in a million ways." I want to know why women are so consumed with the idea of monogamy when evolutionary biology and evolutionary psychology say men aren't adapted to stay in 1-woman relationships. I read about scientific research which talked about and reproduction. Basically, a lot of evolutionary psychologists/biologists stated that a man's very high sex drive (and desire for multiple women) is an evolutionary adaptation designed to help him spread his genes as much as possible (and because of the fact that disproportionate numbers of men got killed in ancient times). That being said, why do girls have this idea that there's something wrong with a guy who goes after more than 1 girl? From an evolutionary standpoint, males are doing what they have adapted to do (which is reproduce a lot.
I'll give 10 points to the person who gives the best answer. thanks in advance

Pytanie #25:
My Parenting teacher insists that having a child is the greatest thing in life, and it's what everyone should do. When I go out I see tons of babies and small children. Why is this? Why do all these people feel the need to pass on their genes? What makes them so special that it's necessary to continue their line? Why don't people choose adoption over having another child, and why do they have more than one when it's obvious our species isn't anywhere near extinction?
Maybe I just have a strange perspective, but I feel no desire to have children. If I do decide to, I will adopt. There are too many people already, and it makes me a little sad to see so many kids running around when I realize that for every one born, life will be that much harder for their competitors.

Pytanie #27:
I dislike them because they are just born with super-human abilities and strength instead of working hard. For them, it's 99% in their genes and only 1% sweat. Examples: Superman, Goku, etc.
Pytanie #28:
like if you adapt long enough will your genes change to guarantee that you will pass the traits to your offspring over time?
or is it that beneficial mutations become so abundant that the gene is guaranteed in the next generation?
which is the exact mechanism of evolution
i got stupid answers in biology
biology section of YA
well if genes arent changed because of adaptation then how can you say that evolution even happens?
evolution is defined in the change in genotype(genes), not only phenotype(looks) over a period of time.
it also supposedly explains the diversity of life which i am bringing under fire now...
when evolution started, an organism had to begin adapting to its environment. like the finch. because there were tough nuts the finch had to have a strong beak to crack them. those with strong beaks already had the genotype for it and lived and reproduced. hence some finches have big beaks and others dont now.
so my question is if adaptation doesnt change your genes eventually (like over generations), then how can evolution account for the diversity of life, outside of beneficial random gene mutations?
it seems like the diversity of life is less evolution and more mutation
so in theory, i can change the genotype of a *population* over time by leaving them in a certain environment for a long time

Obviously people look like whatever ethnicity their family is.
BUT, I have thick, black hair that gets oily very easily. My skin isn't very dark, but it's like a pale tan, if that makes any sense. I mean my skin's not pink or anything, it's you mixed dark skin with pure white.
Both my parents are white, and my great great great great grandmother was Native American. Everything else in my family is Irish or German, and nobody had very dark hair except for the Indian. Someone asked me why I looked like I do, and I said it was probably because of that gene. They said it was impossible to carry a gene that far along, and it must be because of some other part of my heritage.
Is it really impossible that I'm carrying the physical traits of my NA ancestors? There's no other ethnicity like east indian or italian that could explain it. It seems like every generation before me has had at least one child with very black hair and dark skin.

I'm at about 153 and 5'5". I'm on the 6th day of my diet but 3 weeks into school PE and I lost 4.8 pounds. And I'm 14 by the way. Is it possible for me to lose 40 pounds in 4 months? Or do I not weigh enough to lose that much that quickly? I eat about 1000-1300 calories a day. I walk 18-20 mins to school and exercise in PE. Other than that I don't exercise much. I really want to get a lower weight because when I started middle school about 3 years ago I weighed 129 pounds. But i gained about 10 pounds every year. The highest I got was 157.8 pounds. Even when I was at 129, I always wanted to be skinny like those Asian girls because I'm half-Korean and I didn't get a skinny gene. I would like to reach a weight of 110-115. I know that if I go under that I'll be under weight and grossly skinny looking.

My friends grandma is looking for a blue female ringneck parrot. No parakeets.
She already has two parrots a male and a female, but the female, Jake, (they thought she was a boy at first) is quite vicious, and even then they aren't truly sure of its gender. They did a DNA test, and it showed up as a female, but even tho he is older he is growing a white ring around his neck... Plus she is very hard to handle, and a bit moody and vicious. Her bite is really strong, and she may hurt the male.
The male is a one year old male named Simon. His ring is almost full, and he is yellow, with a green tail. He is a handsome boy and I love him! He isn't old enough to breed yet, but the grandma wants to introduce the mates early.
They really want Simon to live up to his potential! He is calm, tho at the moment a bit shy, but they are working on him. He is also very neat, and will clean out his food and water dish, so I'm sure they are hoping to pass on his neat genes.
Please send me a link to a good place where there is ringnecks for sale! They don't have to be blue, but blue is preferred. The area must be in the following areas:
Chandler, Mesa, Phoenix, and Gilbert Arizona...
Other links to help with the breeding process will be great! Their grandma has probably already looked into it, but just in case!
Also my best friend has a parrot who at the moment her family is living with their grandma, while their house is being made has a parrot, a nice ringneck female. But she is also vicious and would hurt poor young Simon.
Thanks! :) NO rude comments please.

I have a dream to one day be able to edit human DNA. This could be used to cure chronic illness's like cancer that are related to a mutated gene within a cell. I also think it could be useful so we could change how our children would look and what new traits they would have to adapt to a changing world: such as changing our DNA so we would have skin more resistant to sun light etc.
Anyways what should i study to do this? i was thinking about becoming an MD Phd, but what do you think is important?
